President's Message

Dear Members, Friends, and Visitors.

It is my great honour and privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation (MMMF).

For more than six decades, the Federation has served as the collective voice and guiding institution of the Marathi community in Mauritius. Founded in 1960, MMMF was established with a clear purpose: to preserve, promote, and transmit the rich language, culture, traditions, and spiritual heritage inherited from our ancestors who journeyed from Maharashtra and made Mauritius their home.

Today, we proudly stand on the foundation built by generations of dedicated community leaders, educators, volunteers, and cultural ambassadors whose commitment has ensured that our heritage continues to flourish. Their sacrifices and vision have enabled us to preserve our identity while contributing meaningfully to the social, cultural, and national development of Mauritius.

As a Federation, our mission extends beyond cultural preservation. We strive to unite affiliated mandalis across the island, empower our youth, strengthen family and community values, promote education and leadership, encourage spiritual growth, and foster meaningful engagement with society. We believe that our traditions are not merely treasures of the past, but guiding principles that help shape a stronger future.

We are also committed to strengthening the historical and cultural ties that connect Mauritius and Maharashtra. Through collaboration, cultural exchange, educational initiatives, and community partnerships, we continue to celebrate the enduring bond between our ancestral homeland and the nation we proudly call home.

This website has been created as a gateway to our community. Here, you will discover our history, our affiliated mandalis, our cultural activities, educational programmes, publications, and the many initiatives that reflect the vitality of the Marathi community in Mauritius.

As custodians of a proud heritage and builders of future generations, we invite you to participate actively in our journey. Together, let us preserve our language, celebrate our traditions, strengthen our unity, and continue contributing positively to the development of Mauritius.

On behalf of the Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation, I thank you for your continued support and invite you to join us in carrying forward the values, culture, and spirit that define our community.

With warm regards,
